Meet Gary Root, founder and head fisherman for "Same Day Seafood" (samedayseafood.com). When he is not out on the water you can find him selling responsibly caught local fish at his booth at the Marin Farmer's Market. Go see him and tell him Scoma's sent you!

Gary si one of our long-time fishing partners who helps Scoma's achieve our goal of providing the freshest fish possible to our guests, from our PIER to your PLATE. Scoma's is the only restaurant in San Francisco where fishermen pull up to our pier and sell us fish!

Whenever our own boat cannot keep up with customer demand, Scoma's has always believed in supporting the fishing community which keeps local fishing boats busy. On any given day, Scoma's knows which boat and what captain caught not only our salmon, but any other species of fish we serve as well.
